- 1 Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- 2 Wash the sweet potatoes and bake in the oven until tender.
- 3 Cool and peel the sweet potatoes, cut them into ½-inch (1.2 cm) slices.
- 4 Layer the sliced sweet potatoes in a buttered casserole dish. Dot each layer with the butter, and sprinkle with brown sugar and nutmeg.
- 5 Add a little water and bake until the top is crisp. Serve immediately.
